Our auditors are accredited to conduct third-party audits on behalf of the regulatory bodies in the relevant states of NSW, VIC, and QLD.
Our high-risk food safety auditors are accredited through Exemplar Global and/or hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Team Members

Gillian Van Someren-Hurley

Gillian has many years’ experience as an accredited high-risk auditor and food safety consultant, she holds a Science Degree (Nutrition and Food Science) and is an accredited trainer and assessor.

As a Level 4 (NFSA-4) High-Risk Auditor she is accredited to conduct audits throughout the states of NSW, Victoria, and Queensland.

Gillian regularly attends staff development days with the regulatory authorities in the relevant states to ensure currency regarding compliance and food safety.

Denis Critchley


 Denis is the founding Director of Safe Food Australia he has been conducting food safety audits from the year 2000. He has been involved extensively in the dairy industry and specialised in aged care and private hospital audits. Denis has many years of experience and is involved in the business on a consultancy basis.

Andrew Pike

Andrew is the newest member of our team; he has worked in the hospitality industry for the past 35 years. His experience is varied and includes large commercial production kitchens, bakeries and public hospitals.

Andrew has extensive experience as a trainer and assessor throughout Western NSW including the implementation of training for the Bread and Butter Project to assist refugees to acquire skills in the baking industry.
